When my eldest daughter was in kindergarten, we came face-to-face with the limitations traditional schooling can give to quick-learners. So, we pulled her out to homeschool her figuring kindergarten couldn't be that hard. We never reenrolled her, quickly seeing the true opportunities homeschooling can give outside the established textbook and testing structure.

With each child we added to the family, and eventually to our homeschool, we realized our desire for the freedom to create the best, individualized educational experience for our children. Our children were so wildly different from one another that, to us, trying to educate them all in the same way was ridiculous and ineffective. I am proud to say that we gave a truly individualized education to each of our children—an education that took into account their personal interests, goals, and learning styles-- while meeting the legal obligations for high school graduation.

Over the past 30+ years, I have seen and experienced many different homeschooling philosophies, values, and methods but at the heart of all of them, I believe lies one important value: freedom. The freedom to choose the coursework and curriculum that best gives your student the education they need to be successful after graduation, whatever their plans for their future.

After walking alongside hundreds of homeschooling parents and their teens, I created Homeschool Directive, an online, non-traditional school that gives parents the structure they want and the freedom they crave to create a positive and successful high school experience for their teens at home.

I look forward to partnering with you in your homeschooling journey.
